Will Swinton Captivates With Alt-Country Opening Set at (Le) Poisson Rouge

Singer-songwriter Will Swinton charmed the audience at Greenwich Village’s (Le) Poisson Rouge October 16 with a powerful opening set. The 22-year-old New Zealander is supporting BabyJake on his Beautiful Blue Collar Boy tour, which continues through November 16.

Swinton showcased a collection of songs from his debut EP, Better Days, as well as his newly released single “Flames.” Swinton’s music blends elements of folk, pop, and alt-country, and his layered vocals filled the room at LPR as newfound fans swayed along.

In between songs, Swinton shared a bit of his story, from moving to Los Angeles and crashing on a couch to signing with 10K Projects and Capitol Records, and recently obtaining his U.S. visa. When Swinton left the stage, audience members were left chanting for more, and it was clear that the singer-songwriter is a rising star to watch.
