our story:

The idea for Wavelengths initially came about in 2019 when students at FCLC recognized the desire and need for a community that could bond through an appreciation of music. In the spring semester of 2020, Wavelengths became an official club. It’s been a long journey with a plethora of challenges, but we’re lucky to have created a self sufficient haven for students who want to share their sounds.

Discover more about the founders of our club and our past E-Boards below.

2022-2023 Executive Board

JuJu Jaworski (P)

JuJu Jaworski (she/they) is honored to be the President of Wavelengths for the 2022-2023 school year! She is a rising junior at FCLC, majoring in Directing within the Theatre program and minoring in Digital Technology and Emerging Media. She has been a part of Wavelengths since the Fall of my freshman year, starting off as one of the first tech consultants and the first Tiktok Manager. They became the Secretary during their sophomore year and are overjoyed to continue working on the Eboard. They have been hosting their radio show, Verses Radio, for two years now and absolutely love getting to talk about their favorite music on air. Wavelengths is one of the most vibrant communities here at FCLC and they feel so lucky to be a part of it. Let’s rock! 🎸

Melissa LoPiccolo (VP)

Melissa LoPiccolo (she/her), normally referred to on campus as “Melissa Joy,” is thrilled to continue on the E-Board during her third year with WALC! As a Digital Technologies & Emerging Media major, VP of Wavelengths, and President of Songwriting Club (and a recording artist/producer in her free time), there is no question that creativity is extremely important to Melissa. Her goal with Wavelengths this year is to maintain the club’s ability to act as a safe space for all forms of creativity and individuality. Melissa is the host of Outro Radio, airing each Friday at 7:20pm on WALC.

Maura Johnston (S)

Maura “Mej” Johnston (they/them) is a Junior at Fordham LC double majoring in Film and Communications. They love performing as a performance artist, actor, and singer, as well as writing and directing both short and feature length films. Kaylin Barnes (T)

Kaylin Barnes (she/her) is a junior at FCLC, majoring in Psychology, minoring in French Language, AND is on a 5-year track for her M.A. in Education! In her free time, she loves to dance, plague her friends with 2012 dance-pop, and take long naps in her cozy twin XL. She is so excited to join the executive board for WALC as treasurer, and can’t wait to be involved in the behind-the-scenes of the club! She joined as a shadow in the Spring of 2022 and has since begun co-hosting her show, “HyperFixate”, with her dear friend and fellow junior, Sophia Grausso, on Fridays at 5pm.

She is a rising senior studying French Studies with a minor in Linguistics with a passion for music all over the world. She does her best to listen to music in as many languages as possible and uses her radio show as a way to share what she’s discovered with other music lovers. Caitlin is incredibly excited to play a role in the continuing success of Wavelengths this school year and is so honored to be a part of such an amazing community of people at FCLC.

in 2019,

Wavelengths began. Conducting radio sets out of dorm rooms, the organization started out on a venture to establish the first student-run radio station at Fordham Lincoln Center. While it seemed to be a challenge, membership continued to increase, especially in 2020, as people sought out music to keep them company in isolation.

Each semester, the number of Wavelengths DJs, contributors, and listeners continues to grow. We work to continue uniting students through music today, with the help of people like you!
