Queen Naija: Press Conference with º1824

Most artists fear getting older. Platinum-certified R&B singer Queen Naija is owning it with her new pre-album 30. I was lucky enough to attend her recent °1824 press conference and learn more about this exciting new era in her artistic evolution.

“When I first started out, I was 22,” she reflected. “I thought I was grown back then!” Since then, her life has been an unrelenting whirlwind. “Everything was so fast for me... I didn’t have a chance to really live in a moment.” On top of releasing an album, 3 EPs, countless singles, and maintaining a thriving YouTube career, she’s also been raising two children. While many artists might rest on their laurels, Queen Naija isn’t getting comfortable. Instead, she’s focusing on trying new things. On the creative process for 30, she explained the main difference from past projects was “just being open to explore.” Whether it's new production, new tempos, or singing songs by other writers, Queen “wants to do whatever is gonna help [her] win.”
